We spoke to VOCASO CEO & Founder, David Goldstone.
Please tell us a little bit about you the person (not you the business owner): 30 years in executive search - love life - fortunate to have had a great career in a profession I love. Passionate about people - a connector and networker. Truly blessed. Two adult kids at uni, a wife and two dogs.
Describe your business in less than 30 words: Building a community of seasoned executives who have aspirations to be a NED or board advisor. In return for an annual subscription I offer training and development, in person and online events and I connect them with growth companies (for free!) for possible advisory roles. A unique market disrupting business.
What industry or sector does your business fall in to?: Community
What did you do before you started your business?: Im still doing it ! 30 years in Executive search.
What have been the biggest struggles that you have encountered, and what did you do to overcome them?: Juggling everything - running a business and launching a new one at the same time is super challenging.
Have you had any external investment to date?: No
What has been the impact of COVID-19 on your business and did you make any changes, or pivots?: We launched post COVID - th new world plays into our model - fractional careers / home working / acceptance of video meetings - all bring barriers down for aspiting NEDs
Do you have any business hero's, if so, who are they?: My Dad - who worked hard all his life / stuck to his values and remained positive always (he's still around and still one of the most motivated people I know)
