Digital for good WEAGILE Co - Founders Monshur Ali & Chris Bradshaw
Describe your business in less than 30 words:
Recognised as a top 100 start-up in the UK 2020. We are a remote-first digital creative studio that specialises in design, development and marketing as well as creative capital.
What industry or sector does your business fall in to?: Digital / Marketing
What did you do before you started your business?:
Monshur Ali - COO at a digital agency
Chris Bradshaw - CEO at a digital agency
What have been the biggest struggles that you have encountered, and what did you do to overcome them?: Since launching the business the main challenge we faced was introducing this new and transparent model to the world. WeAgile is remote-first and instinctively clients assumed all staff are freelancers and not as dedicated or experienced as they would be within a generic agency. There was a learning curb we had to go through with potential and new clients to clarify how we have access to the best of the best creatives that can run their projects and hit the mark first time. Since we have low overhead costs, we share that savings with our clients meaning our costs are cheaper than the average agency but also able to provide senior skillsets within all our projects.
Ultimately, we had to relook at how we managed our messaging to ensure it was clearer what we offer, how we do it and the benefits of this new model.
Have you had any external investment to date?: No
What has been the impact of COVID-19 on your business and did you make any changes, or pivots?: COVID, for the most part, had a positive impact on the business with more companies wanting to go digital we signed on a lot more clients. We also, as a business, decided to give back and launched multiple charity campaigns to support our communities.
The main challenges we faced was having to delay some scheduled projects and working with our staff to help them manage their time efficiently while having additional responsibilities during the day such as children at home, slow broadband etc.
We also took this time to focus on our own product and launched an e-commerce product for the hospitality sector to help them continue to sell their products.
What have you found to be the biggest challenges to your business growth?
WeAgile has grown immensely over the past 18 months and we have started working with some amazing startups and very established corporates. The biggest barrier we've had is expanding into international markets as we've either not had the time to reach out or due to lock down and travel restrictions
Do you have any business hero's, if so, who are they?:
We have a few:
Steve Jobs - Jack Ma and - Jack Dorsey
Financial Rewards or Business Awards?: Business Awards
What was the last book you read?:
Monshur - Radical Candor by Kim Scott
Chris - Exponential Organizations by Salim Ismail
